What is it?

The event is an opportunity for young people to volunteer their time to help others. The group will travel to 6 different Aged Care Facilities in the City of Monash and sing carols to the elderly residents who live there.

There will be 2 different sessions that young people can choose to get involved in. The first group will meet at MYFS (Glen Waverley) at 2:15pm and travel to 3 Aged Care Facilities and return to MYFS at 5pm. A BBQ will be provided at this time. The second group will meet at 5pm (to also enjoy the BBQ) and will leave MYFS at 6pm and travel to a further 3 Aged Care facilities. This group will arrive back at MYFS at approximately 8:30pm.

Please indicate on the registration form which session you would like to be involved in. Buses will be provided to transport young people to the Aged Care facilities. Registration for Carols by Summerlight closes on Friday 30th November. ENTRIES HAVE NOW CLOSED

What you need to know.

Before completing the registration please ensure that you are able to commit to the following:

• Attend 2 briefing/practice sessions at the Batesford Community Hub (94 Batesford Road, Chadstone) on Tuesday 4th and 11th December from 5:30pm-6:30pm
• Participate in the event which will be held on Tuesday 18th December 2012, travelling to the following Aged Care Facilities:
• Elizabeth Gardens
• Glen Waverley Nursing Home
• Corpus Christi
• Wahroonga Friendship Village
• Monash Gardens Village
• Oaktowers Hostel
• Actively contribute to the singing of carols as a group member (we are not professional singers, but expect you to have fun while singing the carols!)
• Provide your own transport to and from MYFS, 14 Bogong Avenue at your designated time.
