World Environment Day - Youth Award 2012

The City of Monash and Fonterra are proud to again present the Youth Award for 2012. This award recognises an individual or group of young people of secondary school age who has demonstrated leadership contributing to environmental action, awareness or research within the City of Monash. There will be three awards presented to participants aged 12-18.

Nominees might include environment groups, environmental champions, an organisation or individual with an effective program or idea leading to long-term environmental benefits. Achievements may include practical programs or projects, information sharing presentations, or a research project that has engaged the wider community. Initiatives leading to behaviour change with positive environmental outcomes will be looked upon favourably.

 The City of Monash looks for evidence of community engagement such as:

  • Conservation projects leading to water or energy efficiencies within the home, school or club.
  • Strong and effective advocacy for organisational or community change leading to environmental benefits.
  • Research/school projects or presentations around issues affecting the environment.
  • Engagement in community events such as tree planting, clean up activities
  • Setting up an environment group and related activities

What can you win?

You can win one of three $200 JB Hi-Fi vouchers for young people aged 12-18 who live, school or hangout in Monash.


How do you enter?

You can enter yourself, nominate a friend(s) or if you are an adult nominate a student, participant or young person (you must have permission from the person/people you are nominating)
