What is this National Youth Week thing?
National Youth Week is the largest celebration for young people in Australia. It offers lots of opportunities for young people aged 10-25 years to showcase their talents, contributions and achievements, participate in new activities and learn new skills, raise and act on issues of concern to them, attend live events, and - most importantly - have fun.
National Youth Week 2010 will be celebrated 10th to 18th April 2010.

What is the world record all about?
It is an OFFICIAL GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT! MYFS have now selected the world record attempt for youth week!! We need as many people as possible to come along and attempt to break the current record of 198 people. Parental consent must be supplied for person under the age of 18 years so please download a consent form by clicking here and bringing it along to the event on the night. The celebration of the youth awards and the world record attempt will be supported by a Quiksound live music event to celebrate Youth Week 2010 and will be held at Brentwood Secondary College (222 Watsons Rd, Glen Waverley) on Friday evening 16th April 2010. What is the Youth awards all about?
Young people were nominated for a Youth award if they have made a positive contribution to the Monash municipality. Monash City Council and the Victorian Government's Office For Youth are jointly funding this project to recognise young people's contribution to their community and to showcase young people's talents and achievements. Nominations were aimed at young people who have a commitment to the community in areas such as volunteering, taking care of the environment, being peer mentors, supporting community members, or who have simply made a positive impact or contribution one way or the other. Nominees were young people aged between 10 and 25 years, who live, study, work or have significant ties to the Monash municipality and fit within one or more of the categories listed above. An awards celebration evening will be held on Friday 16 April 2010. The event will run from 6:30pm - 11pm and the awards will be presented within this time. Please note that nominations closed on Friday 9 April 2010.
